生命的意義

上帝創造了驢子並告訴牠“你將從早到晚不停的工作、背負重物，你只能吃
草，你將不會擁有智慧，而你有50年的壽命，你是一隻驢子！“驢子回答說“我會
是隻驢子，但活50年太久了，讓我活20年就好了！“於是上帝給了牠20年的壽命。

God created the dog and told him: 'You will look after the men's
house, you will be his best friend, you will eat whatever they give
you and you will live 25 years. You will be a DOG!'The dog
answered:
God, living 25 years is too much, give me only 10.' God gave him
10  years.

上帝創造了狗並告訴牠“你必須替人類看家，你是人類最忠實的朋友，你只
能吃人類給你的任何東西，而你可以有25年的壽命，你是一隻狗“狗回答說“活25
年太久，讓我活10年就好了！“於是上帝給了牠10年的壽命。

God created the monkey and told him: 'You will jump from branch to
branch, you will do silly things, you will be amusing and you will
live 20 years. You will be a MONKEY!'The monkey answered: 'God,
living 20 years is too much, give me only 10 years.' And God
agreed.

上帝創造了猴子並告訴牠“你必須在樹上跳來跳去，做一些蠢事讓人開心，
而你有20年的壽命，你是隻猴子！“猴子回答說“上帝，活20年太久了，讓我活10
年就好了！“上帝也同意了。

Finally, God created man, and told him: 'You will be Man, the only
rational being on this earth, you will use your intelligence to
control other animals, you will dominate the world and you will
live for 20 years. You will be a MAN!' The man answered: 'God, I'll
be
man, but living 20 years is not enough, why don't you give me the
30
years that the donkey refused, the 15 years that the dog did not
want and the 10 years that the monkey refused.

最後，上帝創造了人類並告訴他“你是人類，地球上唯一的理性生物，你將
運用智慧去控制其他的動物並主宰世界，而你可以有20年的壽命
“人類回答說“上帝，我是人類，但20年的壽命實在不夠，你何不把驢子放
棄的30年、狗放棄的20年、及猴子放棄的15年都給我呢？

That was what God did, and since then, Man live 20 years like a
man,then he gets married and spend 30 years like a donkey, working
and carrying the load on his back, then when his children leave,
spend
15 years like a dog, looking after the house and eating whatever is
given to him, then he gets old, retire, and spend 10 years like a
monkey,
jumping from house to house or from children to children, doing
silly things to amuse the grandchildren

這就是上帝的決定。從此，人類過了20年人樣的生活。結婚後花了30年像隻
驢子一樣的背負重擔。當他的孩子離家後，又花了15年如狗一般的看家、吃任何別
人給他的東西、然後漸漸老去而退休。剩下的10年，他像猴子般的在屋子和孩子間
轉來轉去，盡做些蠢事為的是取悅兒孫。
